Selection is based strictly on academic ability
- this fund targets South Africa's brightest disadvantaged
students. The trustees review candidates' performances
annually, and only those who have passed are eligible to
have their grants renewed. This carefully supervised
and discrete funding of hand-picked individuals, supported by
a comprehensive mentoring scheme, ensures that
donations to the fund have maximum impact.
In making awards the trustees reserve the right to withhold or cancel grants, should the students' conduct or performance bring them, or their university or into disrepute.
Students are required to write to the Trust within four weeks of completing their year end examinations, describing the high points and any low points they might have encountered in their year of study. Students are asked to advise of any charitable or community work with which they are involved, including tutoring/mentoring of other students. |
